IBHUBANESHWAR: In a strategic move to boost fuel security and ensure uninterrupted power generation, NTPC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Odisha Coal and Power Limited (OCPL) to source surplus coal from the Manoharpur Coal Mine in Odisha. The agreement was executed by Shri Sanjib Kumar Saha, ED (FM), NTPC, and Shri Ayaskant Kanungo, COO, OCPL, in the distinguished presence of Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department, Government of Odisha. Under the terms of the MoU, the coal will be transported via rail mode on a best-effort basis, with final payment settlements linked to the actual quantity and quality received at NTPC’s power plants.
