NTPC Bongaigaon Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club distributed training kits among aspiring women entrepreneurs as part of its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in rural Kokrajhar. The initiative, implemented in collaboration with Tusti Foundation, aims to equip women with entrepreneurial skills in Areca Nut Leaf Craft and Jute Handicrafts, fostering economic independence and self-reliance.
The distribution event was graced by Smt. Rupali Sinha, President, Vasudha Mahila Mandal, ER-II, who handed over the training kits, including essential workwear, to the participants. Smt. Sinha was joined by Smt. Kasturi Maitra, President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, NTPC Bongaigaon, Smt. Soumya Kar, Vice President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, Smt. Jhumita Biswas, Senior Member, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club along with Shri Onkar Nath, Head of HR, NTPC Bongaigaon, and the CSR team. The initiative aims to train 30 women from local villages in skill-based trades that utilize locally available, eco-friendly materials. Participants will receive structured training aligned with NCVET guidelines, focusing on product development, financial literacy, and market linkages to transform their skills into sustainable business ventures.
