In a move to recognize the invaluable contributions of its retired workforce, the NTPC Ex-Employees Welfare Association (Hbd) has formally requested the introduction of a long-awaited Felicitation Scheme for superannuated employees. This initiative aims to honor those who have dedicated years of service and loyalty to NTPC, reflecting their significant role in the company’s success.
In a recent communication addressed to NTPC Chairman Siva Oddenna, Association President highlighted a concerning gap in NTPC’s employee recognition programs. The appeal comes on the heels of a similar initiative by Power Grid Corporation, which recently rolled out a monetary reward scheme that includes public recognition ceremonies for its retired employees. Such schemes have already been adopted by other Maharatna PSUs, including IOCL, BPCL, ONGC, and HPCL, showcasing a growing trend in the industry to honor retired personnel.
The request underscores the importance of acknowledging the contributions of retired employees, who have played a crucial role in shaping the future of the power industry. The NTPC Ex-Employees Welfare Association is hopeful that NTPC will follow suit and implement a comprehensive recognition scheme, ensuring that its retirees receive the appreciation they deserve for their years of dedicated service.
