NTPC Celebrates Renovation of Salakati Market and Strengthening Community Ties

NTPC Bongaigaon has successfully inaugurated the renovated Salakati Market Shed, a project executed under the company’s CSR initiative with an investment of ₹35.89 lakhs. The comprehensive refurbishment included constructing an 8,000-litre RCC overhead water tank, repairing 200 meters of surrounding drains, refurbishing toilet blocks with a PVC overhead water tank, and making structural repairs to three market sheds that house 70 shops. Additional upgrades involved PCC flooring in vendor areas and approach pathways, installation of chequered tiles in the fish market zone and toilet approaches, provision of water supply points and piping for fish market shops, and electrification with a 250-amp LT Panel Board, earthing, and cabling for the shops. While the initial plan aimed to refurbish four sheds covering 120 shops, site constraints led to the completion of three sheds.
