GUWAHATI. NTPC Limited Bongaigaon observed World Health Day with a series of initiatives promoting health, fitness, and environmental responsibility among its employees and stakeholders. Organised by the Medical Department, the programme reflected the organisation’s ongoing commitment to holistic well-being and sustainable living.
The celebrations commenced with an early morning Walkathon, led by Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, along with Smt. Kasturi Maitra, President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club , Shri Anurag Gupta, GM (O&M), and Dr. Deepayan Paul, Chief Medical Officer, in the presence of Heads of Departments and senior officials. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees, CISF personnel, hospital staff, and their family members, highlighting a strong collective commitment towards a healthy lifestyle. The walk, stretching from the hospital to the township, aimed to raise awareness about the importance of regular physical activity and preventive healthcare, fostering a strong sense of community engagement.
Complementing the focus on physical health, a tree plantation drive was conducted within the township to highlight the connection between environmental care and human well-being. Participants planted saplings as a symbolic step towards building a greener and healthier future, reinforcing the message of sustainability.
The celebrations also featured a Nutrition and Wellness Camp offering guidance on preventive healthcare and lifestyle management. Additionally, a stress management session by a noted psychologist provided valuable insights into maintaining mental well-being in demanding work environments. Together, the day’s activities underscored NTPC Bongaigaon’s integrated approach to health, emphasizing that personal wellness and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.
