In a significant effort to bolster healthcare services in Mon, Nagaland, NTPC Limited has donated two advanced life support ambulance vans and two mortuary vans to the District Administration of Mon. The vehicles were handed over by Arnab Maitra in a ceremony attended by Kasturi Maitra, President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, NTPC Bongaigaon, and Onkar Nath, AGM (HR), NTPC Bongaigaon. Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Mon, represented the District Administration at this important event.
This initiative is part of NTPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to address the healthcare challenges of the remote district. The advanced life support ambulances are equipped with modern medical facilities to ensure critical care reaches patients promptly, featuring essential equipment like ventilators and defibrillators. The mortuary vans are designed for respectful transportation of the deceased, equipped with refrigeration facilities to preserve bodies. Valued at ₹98.26 lakhs, this project aims to significantly improve emergency healthcare response for over 3.47 lakh residents in Mon district, showcasing NTPC’s commitment to social upliftment and healthcare enhancement in North-East India.
Shri Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, appreciated NTPC’s timely support, highlighting the importance of such contributions in bridging the healthcare access gap for remote communities. Verma expressed gratitude on behalf of the district administration for NTPC’s consistent efforts towards uplifting the region’s healthcare standards.
The project, valued at Rs 98.26 lakhs, is set to benefit over 3.47 lakh residents across Mon district, significantly enhancing the region’s emergency healthcare response capabilities.
