NMDC Steel Limited, India’s newest and state-of-the-art integrated steel plant, has become the first company in the country to receive the Indian Standards (IS) license for “Hot Rolled Steel Strip, Sheet, and Plates for Welded Steel Pipe for Pipeline Transportation Systems – General Requirements (IS 18384:2023).” The certification was presented by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) during the World Standards Day 2025 celebration in Raipur, in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and other dignitaries. This milestone underscores NMDC Steel’s commitment to delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable steel products tailored for the petroleum and natural gas sectors, reinforcing India’s industrial standards and infrastructure development. CMD Shri Amitava Mukherjee expressed pride in this achievement, highlighting it as a testament to the company’s dedication to excellence, technological advancement, and strengthening India’s self-reliance in the steel industry. Operating with a capacity of 3.0 MTPA, NMDC Steel continues to play a vital role in advancing India’s industrial growth and sustainable manufacturing practices.
