NMDC Limited CMD interacts with Panchayat leaders in Dantewada

NMDC CMD Amitava Mukherjee Dantewada Panchayat meeting

RAIPUR: Shri Amitava Mukherjee, Chairman and Managing Director of NMDC Limited, held a meeting with Panchayat heads from villages around its projects in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, to promote inclusive growth and address local concerns. The interaction focused on strengthening community engagement and supporting rural development.

Representatives from several villages raised key issues such as drinking water, road connectivity, healthcare, street lighting, sports facilities, and overall infrastructure. Senior officials, including Krishna Kumar Thakur, Director (Personnel), along with project leadership from Bacheli and Kirandul complexes, were also present during the discussions.

The CMD emphasized NMDC’s commitment as a responsible public sector enterprise to improve the socio-economic conditions of the region. He stated that community trust is central to the company’s work and assured that efforts will be made to develop self-reliant villages in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Villagers welcomed the direct interaction and expressed hope for improvements in basic facilities. Krishna Kumar Thakur assured continued dialogue, adding that feedback from local communities will guide future development initiatives. NMDC has been operating in the Bailadila region since 1968 and has contributed to infrastructure and economic development in Dantewada.
