NLC India recently concluded a high-impact Management Development Program (MDP) focused on Conflict Management and Negotiation Skills for the senior leadership team of the Banhardih Coal Mining Project (PVUNL). Held in collaboration with Yogamaya Associates (YAPL), the program underscored the importance of strategic soft skills in driving operational excellence and organizational culture.
The program featured a distinguished panel of experts who brought decades of industrial and academic experience to the sessions, including Shri Ajaya Kumar Sahoo, Founder Director at IRHS Associates, Delhi, along with co-faculties Shri Girish Surdeo and Dr. S.K. Acharya, former CMD of NLC India.
This engagement follows a successful program conducted for PVUNL earlier this year in January. The positive feedback and strong endorsement from the leadership led to this second cohort for the Banhardih team. The sessions moved beyond theoretical frameworks, allowing senior executives to reflect on real-world conflict resolution and negotiation tactics that directly impact trust and project outcomes on the ground.
The program saw active participation and support from the core leadership at PVUNL, including Shri Ashok Sehgal, CEO, PVUNL, who was acknowledged for his continued trust in leadership development initiatives, and Shri Nirod Kumar Mallick, GM, Banhardih Coal Mining Project, noted for his active involvement and commitment to the team’s professional growth. The seamless execution of the program was further supported by the coordination team comprising Shri Ziaur Rahman, Head of HR, PVUNL, Shri Amar Dayal Singh, Head EDC, PVUNL, and Shri Sanjay Kumar, Dy. Manager HR, Banhardih CMP.
By fostering a space for open reflection, the program has equipped the Banhardih senior leadership with the tools necessary to navigate complex industrial environments with integrity and collaborative spirit.
