The New Plate Mill (NPM) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has registered a new benchmark by achieving best single day plate rolling record on 11th December, 2024. The mill rolled 5050 tons of plates surpassing the previous best of 4980 tons made on 30th July. It is noteworthy that this is the highest single day plate rolling record of New Plate Mill since its inception in 2014.
Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge, RSP visited NPM on 12th December, 2024 and congratulated the NPM collective. Mr. Alok Verma, ED In-Charge (Works) also accompanied the DIC. Present on the occasion were many CGMs, HOD of the associated departments and other senior officers of the department.
Mr. Atanu Bhowmick presented bouquets and sweets to the employees as a gesture of appreciation and congratulated the NPM Collective for the record production. Appreciating the team of the NPM collective, the DIC exhorted the employees to keep looking for innovative opportunities to reach new milestones in the future. Mr. Alok Verma also joined the DIC in congratulating the department. Mr. Bhowmick, Mr. Verma and other dignitaries also cut the ceremonial cake to celebrate the record.
