A new modern Conference Hall, ‘Samagam’ was inaugurated at the Executive Director (Works) building of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) by Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge (DIC), RSP on 9th August, 2025. Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Mr. Biswaranjan Palai, ED (Works), Mr. Sudip Palchowdhury, ED(Projects), Dr. J K Acharya, CMO In Charge (M&HS), Mr. Rajesh Dasgupta, CGM (F&A), many CGMs, HODs and a large number of employees were present on the occasion.
Expressing happiness over the establishment of the state-of-the-art and multi-purpose conference hall, Mr. Verma said that he can visualize many meaningful deliberations and brainstorming sessions being conducted in the hall. “Growth is always welcomed, be it in the happiness index, the team work and camaraderie or the overall performance. The addition of the very modern hall also signifies the growth in the infrastructure facilities which augurs well for RSP.”
Notably, the name, from Sanskrit, समागम (samāgam) means “coming together” or “meeting.” This name reflects the hall’s purpose as a venue for discussions, presentations, technical workshops, and brainstorming—aimed at taking the organization to greater heights through collaborative exchange. The hall is envisioned as a catalyst for innovation, professional development, and stronger organizational bonds.
The Civil Engineering (Services), Air Conditioning, Communications Department and other associated departments, construction teams have contributed in turning the vision of creating the conference hall into reality—creating not just a hall, but a place for growth.
