The National Safety Week celebrations commenced at SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 4th March 2025 with observation of the 54th National Safety Day. Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), RSP hoisted the Safety Flag in the ‘Shilpa Konark’ monument complex. Mr. S Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects), Mr. R K Patra, CGM (Quality) & Acting ED Works, Dr. J K Acharya, CMO In-Charge (M&HS) and many other Chief General Managers, Heads of Departments, Departmental Safety Officers, members of Central Safety Committee, and other senior officers attended the ceremony. Notably, the theme of this year’s safety week celebrations is “Safety & Well-Being: Crucial for Viksit Bharat”.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Misra said “Safety starts at home; we need to take care of the plant in the same way we take care of our house. Awareness is important to understand the hazards and safety norms.” He urged everyone to be safe and to motivate others to be safe as well. Mr. Misra, along with other senior officers shook hands with “Abhedya” the safety mascot of RSP.
Safety pledge was administered on the occasion in Odia, Hindi and English by Mr. RK Muduli, CGM (Electrical), Mr. R K Bisare, CGM (NPM & SPP), and Mr. S Kartha, CGM (SMS-I). Mrs. Asha S Kartha, CGM (Safety & Fire Services) delivered the welcome address while Mr. Abakasa Behera, GM (SED) coordinated the event. Safety badges were pinned on the senior executives and employees.
Earlier, in the morning Mr. S Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects) hoisted the Safety Flag at ED (Projects) office.
