Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) hosted a vendors’ meet today at the TMA Pai Convention Centre in Mangalore, attracting over 300 vendors from across the country as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2024. In his keynote address, Managing Director M. Shyamprasad Kamath emphasized MRPL’s pivotal role in meeting India’s energy needs, noting that the company refines 10% of the crude oil processed by Indian PSU refineries and fulfills 60% of Karnataka’s energy demand through petrol, diesel, and LPG. He acknowledged the vital contributions of vendors whose timely and quality services are crucial for MRPL’s capacity to meet the nation’s energy requirements.
The event featured presentations from various speakers, including Satish Satyanarayana, GM (Materials), and Prasanth Sankar Poduval, GGM – Materials, who addressed the importance of Independent External Monitors for transparency in procurement processes. Ganesh S. Bhat, CVO, highlighted key elements of the Integrity Pact, while Nandakumar V. Pillai, Director of Refinery, connected the theme of integrity to insights from the ancient Upanishads. Additionally, Jayank Verma, Assistant Manager (Materials), discussed MRPL’s tendering system and opportunities for vendors, while Devaraj, Joint Director – MSME, Mangalore, shared information on MSME initiatives. The program also included a presentation by Aditya Singh Chauhan, Director of GeM, on the registration process and features of the GeM platform. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Manjunath H.V., GM (Materials), and was compered by Ms. Noopur Kaushik Bhalla, Senior Manager (Materials).
