MoSPI Unveils ‘Compendium of Datasets & Registries 2024’—A One-Stop Data Resource for India

MoSPI Unveils ‘Compendium of Datasets & Registries 2024’

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has released the Compendium of Datasets and Registries in India, 2024, a comprehensive reference designed to enhance data accessibility and informed decision-making. As part of its ongoing efforts to modernize the National Statistical System, this initiative ensures seamless access to government datasets for policymakers, researchers, academicians, analysts, businesses, and the public.

The compendium consolidates metadata for approximately 270 datasets and registries from 40 Ministries and Departments, spanning key sectors such as agriculture, health, education, labor, tourism, banking, and rural development. It serves as a one-stop resource, offering insights into data availability, collection methodologies, update periodicity, legal frameworks, and sharing policies, along with direct links to data sources on respective government portals.

Aligned with MoSPI’s broader vision of streamlining India’s data ecosystem, this initiative supports evidence-based policymaking, research, and data-driven governance. The dynamic compendium is periodically updated to reflect new datasets, evolving methodologies, and revised policies, ensuring stakeholders have access to the most relevant and up-to-date information.

The Compendium of Datasets and Registries in India, 2024, is now accessible on the MoSPI website: www.mospi.gov.in.
