Jharsuguda: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Gram-Utthan to launch the “Swabalambi” project, a significant initiative under its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts aimed at empowering women in rural areas.
As part of the project, 50 rural women from the Ib Valley Area in Jharsuguda district will receive advanced sewing skill development training. This initiative is designed to enhance the socio-economic status of marginalized women by equipping them with practical and income-generating skills.
MCL officials stated that the initiative not only contributes to individual growth but also plays a crucial role in community development by fostering economic independence and social inclusion.
