Maharashtra has reported the highest number of cases followed by Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. The ministry, meanwhile, said that the number of Covid-19 patients who have recovered in the country crossed the five-lakh mark on Saturday. It also said that the recovery rate has further improved to 62.78 per cent.
Meanwhile BMC Chief IQBAL SINGH CHAHAL told to NEWSMANTRA that Our doubling rate is 50 days now, highest in India. Our discharge is now 70%.
After our open testing policy(without prescriptions: the only city in India to do so.),our testing has gone from 4000 to 6800 tests per day,but our total positives have come down from 1400 to 1200 now(out of this symptomatic r less than 200;so we need only 200 beds everyday.) Yesterday,after alloting beds to all,we had 7000 covid beds & 250 ICUs beds vacant.
On the national front govt said In the last 24 hours, a total of 19,235 were cured of COVID-19. This has resulted in the cumulative total number of recovered cases among COVID-19 patients rising to 5,34,620 today. The recovery rate has presently improved to 62.93%. As more people are recovering due to all-round efforts, the recovered cases exceed active cases by 2,42,362. Medical attention is being provided to all the 2,92,258 active cases. During the last 24 hours 2,80,151 samples have been tested. The cumulative number of samples tested, as of now is 1,15,87,153. As a result of these efforts, the testing per million for India is presently 8396.4. Country-wide diagnostic lab network has been expanded to comprise 850 labs in the government sector and 344 private labs (total of 1194 labs).
India has so far recorded 8,78,254 cases, which includes 23,174 deaths. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases. However, the recovery rate is rising and now stands at 63 percent.
