– Swadhin Club, Jamudihi emerges as the Champion of the tournament
A two-day Peripheral Hockey Tournament was organized at the Kalta Playground on 17th and 18th January, 2025, under the CSR initiative of Kalta Iron Mines (KIM) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). Mr. N.C.Panda, GM (HR &A),BIM-TIM-KIM presided over the closing function and handed over the awards to the winners. Present on the occasion were other Senior Officers and staff of the Department.
Swadhin Club, Jamudihi emerged as the winner of the tournament by defeating Roxy team by 3-0 goals. Kalta High School team and Jhirpani Doldiha managed 3th & 4th position of the tournament. The winner, Runner-up, 3rd and 4th position teams were awarded with trophy, hockey goal keeper kit and cash awards of Rs.10,000/-, Rs.8,000/-, Rs.6000/- and Rs.4000/- respectively. All the participating players of the tournament were awarded with hockey stick, jersey set and hockey ball. In all 8 teams from peripheral areas took part in the tournament.
Earlier on the opening day the tournament was innagruated by Mr. P.C. Barua, GM (BIM-Mining).
The tournament was organized and coordinated by Mr. B. Dutta (AGM, Civil & CSR), Mr. Jagannath Patra (AGM, Civil & CSR- KIM), Mr. S K Behera, Junior Manager (Civil) and Mr. Biranchi Das.
