Ispat General Hospital (IGH) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant, a leading healthcare institution of the region has once again demonstrated exceptional patient care by successfully performing a critical emergency surgery that preserved the eyesight of an injured industrial worker.
Mr. Govind Tanty, an employee of L&T, sustained a serious eye injury while on duty where a foreign object hit the eye. He was taken to ESI hospital, from where he was immediately referred to IGH. Responding with exceptional speed and skill, the medical team at IGH conducted a high-risk emergency operation with surgical expertise.
The complex surgery was led by Dr. Anima Tiga, Chief Consultant (Medical) and critical surgical assistance was provided by Dr. Muskan Jagwani, DNB. Their expert coordination, combined with the diligent efforts of IGH’s dedicated nursing and support staff, ensured a successful outcome for the patient under intense circumstances.
Following the surgery, the patient was immediately referred to a retina specialist for advanced care and further management. After a smooth and satisfactory post-operative recovery, Govind Tanty was discharged.
