Ishanya Foundation launches Mobile Clinic Pathology Sample Collection Centre

Another step towards ensuring access to qualitative and affordable healthcare services to villages of Taloja

Navi Mumbai, January 11, 2024: Ishanya Foundation (IsFon), the CSR arm of Deepak Fertilisers And Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DFPCL), today launched a Mobile Clinic at Taloja aimed at providing affordable and qualitative access to healthcare services to local communities at their doorstep. Staffed by a certified and fully equipped medical team, the Mobile Clinic will tour 41 villages around Taloja reaching out to thousands of beneficiaries offering preventive and curative healthcare services. The Foundation also launched the ‘Ishanya Pathology Sample Collection Centre’ in collaboration with NDC Pathology Diagnostic Private Limited at Devichapada to provide cost-effective pathology services to the local community. The initiative is expected to reduce the cost of diagnostic tests by 80 to 90%, offering substantial relief to economically disadvantaged patients. The Mobile Clinic and Sample Collection Centre were inaugurated by Mrs Parul Mehta, Founder-Trustee, Ishanya Foundation. On this occasion, Dr. Santosh Thite, Regional Officer MIDC,Panvel, Dr. Vikrant Bhalerao, Sub-Regional Officer MPCB, Belapur, Navi Mumbai, Shri Avinash Kaldate, Senior Police Inspector, Taloja Police Station, Mr. Pandurang Landge, President – Commercial & Strategic Growth, DFPCL and Mr. Dineshpratap Singh, EVP – Operations, DFPCL.

These initiatives are another step in our efforts towards ensuring that access to good healthcare services is a right, not a privilege. Our commitment to community health extends beyond this inauguration. It’s an ongoing promise to empower communities by eradicating health disparities and ensuring well-being becomes a shared reality for all.”

The launches are part of Ishanya Foundation’s Aarogyam initiative that takes a holistic approach to healthcare amongst local communities by focussing on providing access to quality healthcare and promoting sustainable healthcare solutions. In the current fiscal, IsFon has successfully provided free health check-ups and medicines to 12,352 patients, reflecting the organization’s commitment to community well-being. In collaboration with Lakshmi Charitable Trust Panvel, Ishanya Foundation also recently conducted five eye examination camps in Pale Khurd and surrounding villages. Out of 988 individuals examined, 304 were identified with cataracts and 198 underwent successful cataract surgeries. Additionally, 413 individuals diagnosed with visual impairment were provided with spectacles. The initiative also contributed various equipment to the health sub-centre at Valap, along with one cupboard and weighing forks each to 20 Anganwadis in the Taloja area. Moreover, nutritional support has been extended to 200 tuberculosis patients in Vavanje, Kalamboli and Kharghar areas for a period of six months.

Ishanya Foundation has been supporting rural communities in multiple locations across Maharashtra in the areas of dairy development, health, vocational training, and income generation initiatives for the past 16 years with a focus on women’s empowerment. By acting as an effective catalyst in DFPCL’s geographies of operations, Ishanya Foundation is creating a self-reliant and respectable society with a secure and sustained means of livelihood through employment skills and resource support. Ishanya Foundation’s community development initiatives have benefited 14,994 (all locations) beneficiaries through its various schemes during 2023–2024.
