The intranet-based Materials Management (MM) Dashboard of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) for enhanced materials management efficiency was inaugurated by Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge, RSP on 22nd July 2025 during the 875th Mass Contact Exercise held at Gopabandhu Auditorium.
The newly launched dashboard is a significant step towards digitization and efficient material tracking. Hosted on the RSP intranet and accessible through the RSP Portal, it serves as a centralized interface offering real-time insights, analytics, and control over materials used across the plant.
Designed to ensure dynamic data visualization, the dashboard features multiple interconnected graphs, where updates in one parameter automatically reflect across the others. It lets users with flexible viewing options, allowing data to be displayed as bar charts, line graphs, or in tabular format. In addition, users can download specific datasets for deeper analysis and reporting needs.
The dashboard has been designed and developed by the Computer & Information Technology (C&IT) Department in close coordination with the MM Department. The core team from C&IT included Mr. V.P. Arya, DGM (C&IT), Mr. Rajesh Dhar, AGM (C&IT), and Mr. Dilip Behera, Engineering Associate (IT) working under the guidance of Mr. K K Sengupta, CGM (C&IT).
This initiative marks another step forward in RSP’s digital transformation journey, aimed at improving operational efficiency and informed decision-making through smart technology integration.
