India’s Youth Are World Beaters: Vedanta Chairman Urges Investment in Youth

Vedanta Chairman Urges Investment in Youth

Bengaluru, July 16, 2025: Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal has issued a strong call to action for investing in India’s young population, calling it the country’s greatest strength and competitive edge. In a recent social media post, he wrote: “Out of the 20 largest economies in the world, India has the youngest population. The average Indian is just 28.7 years old and 50% are younger than that. This is a huge advantage. Let’s invest in our youngsters—women and men, girls and boys. They will be world beaters.”

This vision is already being realized on the ground. Vedanta’s skilling programs have trained nearly 15 lakh youth across India over the past five years, empowering individuals from rural and underserved regions with market-relevant skills. With over 200 skilling centres and a placement rate of 91%, the initiative is bridging the gap between aspiration and opportunity.

From creating solar technicians and security professionals to launching careers in finance and hospitality, Vedanta’s mission is rooted in inclusive growth. As it moves toward its goal of empowering 25 lakh people by 2030, the company continues to lead by example, turning intent into impact, and youth into catalysts of national progress.
