NEW DELHI: India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been awarded the ICAO Council President Certificate in recognition of its progress in establishing an effective safety oversight system and enhancing compliance with ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs). The award was presented to DGCA Director General Faiz Ahmed Kidwai at the ICAO assembly in Montreal, which is ongoing until October 3.
The certificate supports ICAO’s No Country Left Behind initiative and is based on transparent, objective criteria derived from the ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) Continuous Monitoring Approach (CMA) activities.
