Indias Air Travel Safety Record Significantly Improved

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has released its 2023 Annual Safety Review, reporting significant improvements in India’s air travel safety. Key highlights include a 25% reduction in Risk Bearing Airprox incidents and a 92% decrease in Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) alerts per 10,000 departures. Additionally, unstabilized approaches dropped by 23%, enhancing runway safety. The DGCA’s data-driven National Aviation Safety Plan (NASP), aligned with ICAO’s Global Aviation Safety Plan, continues to focus on high-risk categories, ensuring ongoing safety improvements.  DD NEWS
