NEW DELHI. India is witnessing a massive surge in tech innovation, with patent filings in the Electronics and IT sector jumping by 52% to over 143,000 in the 2025-26 financial year. To build on this momentum, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched a new “IP Catalyst” and a unified digital platform designed to help inventors turn their ideas into actual products. Speaking at a national conference in New Delhi, MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan noted that these tools will bridge the gap between research and the market, providing a streamlined online gateway for intellectual property support and commercialization. This initiative is a key step toward the “Viksit Bharat” vision, ensuring that Indian innovations don’t just stay on paper but evolve into technologies that drive economic and societal growth.
