NEW DELHI. In response to escalating tensions in West Asia—compounded by recent military actions involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran—the Indian government has established a dedicated inter-ministerial monitoring group to protect the nation’s economic interests. Led by Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, this group meets daily to evaluate risks to shipping routes, logistics costs, and the stability of both exports and imports. By coordinating across various ministries and consulting with trade stakeholders, the government aims to proactively address the concerns of exporters regarding potential delays and rising operational expenses. The initiative reflects a commitment to maintaining a stable trade environment and ensuring that the geopolitical crisis has a minimal impact on India’s global commercial operations.
