NEW DELHI. The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) celebrated a historic milestone during its 57th Convocation, graced by the Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, as the Chief Guest. In his address, the Vice President inspired the graduating students to maintain high standards of integrity and innovation within the media and communication landscape. Diplomas were conferred by the Chancellor of IIMC and Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, who reiterated the government’s commitment to advancing the quality of media education across the country.
The ceremony also marked a significant academic evolution for the institution. It was announced that starting next year, the Department of Media Business Studies will officially award Master’s Degrees, enhancing the program’s global standing. Highlighting the flexibility of the National Education Policy (NEP), a student named Barnil, who moved to IIM Ahmedabad after his first year, was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma for his completed coursework. This convocation underscored IIMC’s role in fostering a transformative educational environment where academic structures adapt to meet the expanding aspirations of its students.
