BHILAI. The Heads of HR from SAIL’s Integrated Steel Plants (ISPs) gathered for a two-day conference at Bhilai Niwas, starting on 01 December 2025, to review workforce optimization, strengthen HR systems, and strategize for future growth. The event, hosted by SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s HR Department, will continue until 02 December 2025, with senior officials, HR leaders, and representatives from Boston Consulting Group participating.
The inaugural ceremony was led by Shri Krishna Kumar Singh, Director (Personnel) – SAIL, who emphasized the importance of adapting HR practices amid industry transformations driven by technological advances, energy transition, and evolving workforce expectations. He highlighted the upcoming Labour Codes and the need for forward-looking, compliant HR strategies to keep SAIL agile in a competitive global market.
SAIL-BSP’s Director I/c, Shri Chitta Ranjan Mohapatra, addressed the challenges faced by the Indian steel sector due to global overproduction and market pressures, urging HR leaders to reassess priorities and align initiatives with strategic objectives. The event also featured a presentation by BCG on “SAIL Darpan – HR Transformation Study,” outlining pathways for organizational change.
Throughout the conference, HR leaders will participate in sessions on HR guidelines, labour statutes, policy frameworks, and solutions for HR transformation, fostering collaborative efforts toward strengthening SAIL’s HR management systems.
