HYDERABAD. GRID-INDIA felicitated 30 scholars, including 15 PhD and 15 postgraduate students, at the 14th GRID-INDIA Power System Awards (GIPSA) 2025–26 held during ICPS 2025 at IIT Hyderabad. The awards recognised outstanding and impactful research contributions in the power systems domain, reflecting the growing role of academic innovation in addressing emerging challenges in India’s power sector. The ceremony was attended by senior leaders, including Shri Samir Chandra Saxena, Chairman and Managing Director, GRID-INDIA; Shri B.S. Murty, Director, IIT Hyderabad; Shri Paresh R. Ranpara, Director (HR); Shri Amit Kumar Jain, Director (Finance); and Shri M.K. Ramesh, Head of Region, SRLDC, underscoring strong industry–academia collaboration.
The GIPSA initiative highlights GRID-INDIA’s commitment to nurturing research excellence and developing industry-ready solutions. Implemented by the SIDBI Innovation and Incubation Centre (SIIC), IIT Kanpur, the awards follow a rigorous and transparent evaluation process. Nominations received from IITs, NITs and leading universities across the country showcased the vibrancy of India’s research ecosystem, with the selected scholars recognised for pioneering work in power systems and allied fields. The initiative aims to inspire young researchers while strengthening India’s transition towards an innovative, resilient and future-ready power sector.
