Govt lines up Rs 27,500 crore for airport upgrade till FY26

The Centre has lined up nearly $27,500 crore  to boost airport infrastructure projects, most of which are scheduled for completion before the general elections next year more than 70 projects of $18,000 crore are scheduled to be completed before the middle of 2024..

These include construction of a greenfield airport at Hirasar (Rajkot), extension of terminal building at Surat, extension of integrated terminal building at Goa, expansion of civil enclave at Gwalior airport, construction of ATC tower at Kolkata, to name a few.

Development of a greenfield airport at Dholera, Ahmedabad is underway and is estimated to be completed by December 2025, according to the annual report of the ministry of civil aviation (MoCA).
