Government Confirms Adequate Supplies of Fertilizers and Fuel for Kharif Season

Fertilizer and fuel supply Kharif 2026 India

NEW DELHI. The government has assured the nation that fertilizer availability remains strong for the Kharif 2026 season, with total supplies currently reaching around 78 lakh metric tonnes. During a high-level briefing, officials confirmed that domestic production and imports are exceeding current requirements, and global tenders have been floated to secure additional stocks. Alongside agricultural inputs, the Ministry of Petroleum confirmed that the supply of LPG, petrol, and diesel is uninterrupted nationwide. Citizens have been urged to avoid panic buying, as domestic fuel stocks are fully secured and digital booking systems are functioning efficiently.

In addition to resource security, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways reported that all Indian sea vessels and seafarers are safe, with no recent incidents reported. Port operations across the country are running normally without any congestion, ensuring the smooth movement of goods. The government has also successfully facilitated the repatriation of over 2,800 Indian seafarers to date. These updates collectively highlight a stable and well-managed national infrastructure, covering essential commodities, energy needs, and maritime safety.
