The 30-Day Children’s Theatre Workshop jointly organised by the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi, under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) will culminate in a grand stage production to be held on 10th June 2025 at Civic Centre, Rourkela. Around 40 children of Rourkela will showcase their newly acquired skills in a full-fledged theatrical performance at Civic Centre, Rourkela in the play ‘Ghati-1857’, written by Mr. K R Pradhan and Directed by Mr. Jagannath Seth, an alumnus of NSD who also is the director of the workshop. The function will start at 6.30 PM.
It is noteworthy that the workshop is being held at Ispat English Medium School, Sector-20, Rourkela from 12th May to 9th June 2025. 40 Children aged between 8 and 16 years from 14 schools of the city actively participated in the daily sessions. They are being trained in various aspects of theatre, including acting, voice modulation, stage presence, and teamwork.
