His Excellency Dr. Phillip Ackermann, German Ambassador to India, recently visited the country’s first RRTS corridor, connecting Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut, and took a ride in the Namo Bharat train. Shri Shalabh Goel Managing Director, NCRTC, and other senior officials of the company accompanied him on this visit.
Dr. Ackermann experienced the ride on the Namo Bharat train from Sahibabad to Duhai Depot RRTS station and experienced the fast, safe, and reliable travel provided by this new-age mobility solution.
He appreciated the commuter-centric amenities at the RRTS stations, the features of Namo Bharat trains which have been thoughtfully designed for comfortable regional commute, and the several initiatives been taken for making RRTS one of the greenest mode of transit enabling sustainable development in the region.
The visit also included a tour of the state-of-the-art Operations Control Center at the RRTS Depot in Duhai, where team NCRTC demonstrated several ground-breaking technologies being adopted for this first-of-its-kind project in India.
Dr. Ackermann expressed admiration for the timely implementation of this complex large-scale project. Further, he hailed the Indo-German partnership between NCRTC and Deutsche Bahn’s Indian subsidiary for the efficient operations of the first RRTS corridor.
