A 23-year-old woman in Unnao district was set ablaze allegedly by five persons, including one who she had earlier this year accused of rape. The incident comes a week after a veterinarian in Telangana was allegedly raped and burnt alive.
Reports says that women survived a brutal rape some time ago was on Thursday set ablaze in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao by a group of men. The five men who had raped her in March this year, are suspected to be behind the latest attempt to kill her.
The rape accused and his friends took the woman outside her village and into the fields and doused her in petrol before setting her on fire. She was raped by the five men in March while police could manage to arrest only three of them and two others were still on the run.
UP Police arrived at the information of the father and brought the victim to the district hospital. Seeing the condition of the victim here, Lucknow has been referred. Meanwhile, the police have arrested the five accused. Two of the arrested accused are also accused in the gang rape case along with the woman and she was recently granted bail. The gang-rape accused, together with their friends, carried out the incident.
SP Vikrant Veer told that a case was registered in Lalganj police station area of Rae Bareli in March. It was alleged on behalf of the girl that two people were gangraped on the pretext of marriage. The names of these two accused are also involved in the incident of burning petrol. The victim’s family says that the accused, who were released from jail, had been threatening them for the last two days.
The victim has said that she was going to Baiswara Bihar railway station to catch a train to go to Rae Bareli. At Gaura Mor, village Harishankar Trivedi, Kishore, Shubham, Shivam and Umesh surrounded him and stabbed him with a stick on his head and a knife on his neck. Meanwhile, when she fell due to dizziness, the accused put petrol and set it on fire.
