GAIL (India) Ltd. has successfully transitioned to SAP S/4HANA, marking a significant milestone in its digital transformation journey. The go-live, officially launched by Chairman & Managing Director Sandeep Kumar Gupta in the presence of senior leadership from GAIL and SAP India, signifies GAIL’s first-ever migration of a Maharatna PSU to SAP’s next-generation cloud-based enterprise resource planning system. Hosted on a scalable cloud platform, this strategic move involved a complete shift from the legacy ECC system to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, completed within a year despite its complexities. The new SAP S/4HANA capabilities introduce advanced features such as dashboards, data cloud, analytics, a user-friendly Fiori interface, Joule interactive apps, and embedded AI for faster data processing. During the launch, GAIL’s leadership emphasized that this transition is not just a technological upgrade but a strategic step toward building a smarter, more agile enterprise. SAP India’s President & Managing Director, Manish Prasad, highlighted that SAP S/4HANA’s reimagined digital core will significantly enhance GAIL’s efficiency and support its journey towards exponential growth and AI integration, reinforcing GAIL’s commitment to operational excellence and digital innovation in today’s rapidly evolving business landscape.
