Fire Safety Awareness Programme was held in Research and Control Laboratory of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant recently for Contractual workers to mark the Fire Services Week. Mr. J B Pattanaik, GM (Fires Services) presided over the session. Present on the occasion were Mr. M I Sonkusare, DGM (Fire Services). In all 70 contractual employees engaged in different Departments across the Plant attended the session.
The awareness programme conducted by Mr. Subhabrata Sahoo, Deputy Manager (Fire Services) had both theoretical and practical inputs. The participants were educated on the safe use and handling of fire extinguishers, home fire safety practices, LPG cylinder safety. The live demonstration featured ladder and rope rescue techniques, foam generation display and fire branch show providing hands-on exposure to essential fire safety practices..
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Sukdeb Goswami, Deputy Manager (Fire Services).
