Enhancing Passenger Experience A Key Commitment from Indian Civil Aviation

India is poised to become a global provider of quality  aviation manpower.

New Delhi. The Foundation for Aviation and Sustainable Tourism (FAST) hosted a seminar titled “Ease of Air Travel – Key to Better Passenger Experience” in New Delhi, emphasizing the vital importance of improving air travel for passengers. Shri V.Vualnam, IAS, Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing the passenger experience and noted, “Passenger experience is important, and we owe it to ourselves to address it effectively.” He acknowledged the unique challenges posed by India’s diverse aviation needs and emphasized the significant employment potential within civil aviation, suggesting that India is poised to become a global provider of quality manpower.

The event featured a range of esteemed speakers, including Lt. Gen. K.M. Seth, PVSM, AVSM (Retd.), President of FAST; Shri Madhu Sudana Sankar, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation; Shri K. Narayan Rao, Vice President of DIAL; Shri Kapil Kaul, CEO of CAPA-Asia Pacific Region; Shri V. P. Agrawal, Former Chairman of the Airports Authority of India and Vice President of FAST; Shri R. P. Singh, Senior Member of the Joint Working Group on Civil Aviation; Dr. Alka Maheshwary from Amity University; Shri Tushar Pandey, Independent Consultant & Advisor PPP; Shri Vipan Jain, Director of Ethics Group of Companies; and other industry professionals.

Discussions centered around crucial topics such as infrastructure development, skilling, and the technological advancements necessary for enhancing passenger experience. Dr. RK Tyagi, who moderated one of the sessions, engaged the audience with a spirited Q&A session, showcasing valuable insights that will aid in formulating a comprehensive white paper aimed at improving air travel in India. Key takeaways from the seminar included the importance of infrastructure investment, the need for skilling and reskilling in the aviation sector, the integration of technology to enhance customer service, and the government’s commitment towards passenger accessibility and comfort.
