Employees and Family members of SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant Enthusiastically Participate in Women's Day Competitions

To mark International Women’s Day, a series of engaging competitions were organized at the Learning and Development Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees and their family members, promoting the theme “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment” while fostering teamwork, inclusivity, and empowerment.

In the Quiz competition organised on 3rd March to celebrate Knowledge & Awareness employees participated in teams of two, ensuring the inclusion of at least one female member. the competition had Preliminary and Final Rounds, testing participants’ knowledge on women’s rights, equality, and empowerment. It was conducted by Mr. Sampad Mishra, AGM (Coke Ovens), and Ms. Divya Dash, AGM (CCW).

On 4th March employees teamed up with either a female colleague or their spouse to participate in “Funathon” – A Test of Speed & Coordination take on thrilling games like Drop Zone, Marble Mania, Reach for the Bucket, Balloon Stack Attack, and Boom Walk.The competition, judged by Ms. Chaitali Das, GM (HR-L&D), where participants displayed remarkable teamwork, agility, enthusiasm and energy.

This year a 10 minute “Skit Competition” was also organised on 5th March highlighting crucial social issues and reinforcing the importance of gender equality. In all four groups comprising 3 to 5 members took part in the event. The event was judged by Mr. P. K. Sahoo, CGM (HR-L&D), Ms. Asha Kartha, CGM (Safety and Fire Services) and Ms. Archana Satpathy, GM (PR) & COC). Notably, the winning team would be representing RSP at the SAIL Level Skit Competition to be held at RSP to mark the occasion.
