The competitions for ED (Works) Skill Excellence Awards-2024 at SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) witnessed enthusiastic participation from a cross section of employees from different units of the plant. The prestigious competitions aimed at mapping the skill competencies of the workforce and promoting a healthy competition to enrich their knowledge base was held from 25th November to 5th December, 2024. A total of 232 employees took part in 8 different categories namely Turner, Fitter, Hydraulics Technician, Welder, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, COPA and Instrumentation.
It is worth mentioning that the award was introduced in the year 2011-12 for the Non-Executive employees in order to encourage and recognizing excellence in skills. It may be noted that the first position holders of different trades are nominated to represent RSP in the CII Work-skills Competition.
