DVC signed a PPA with Solar Power Developer (SPD), M/s AvaadaInclean Pvt. Ltd. at DVC HQ, Kolkata towards the Procurement of 300 MW Solar Power to be established by the SPD anywhere in India.
DVC has become the first organization to enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for RE bundling with its thermal power under the flexibility scheme of MoP, and GoI to reduce carbon emission significantly. Earlier MoP, GoI launched its flagship scheme named โScheme for Flexibility in Generation and scheduling of Thermal/Hydro Power Stationsโ to facilitate the bundling of Renewable Energy by substituting part of costlier thermal energy.
Implementation of the scheme by DVC will enable the organization to supply green power to its beneficiaries at cheaper rate than the existing PPA and also help them in complying Renewal Purchase Obligation (RPO).
