NEW DELHI. Dr. Lata Suresh, Head of the Knowledge Resource Center at the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, was a distinguished speaker at the 15th ULA International Conference 2025 in Sri Lanka. She emphasized that libraries must evolve from mere repositories of knowledge to active guides in helping users navigate the challenges of misinformation and disinformation in the digital age. The conference, themed Navigating Disinformation and Misinformation: What’s Next in Librarianship?, gathered over 200 participants worldwide. Discussions focused on AI, digital literacy, research ethics, and sustainable library education. Dr. Suresh’s insights underscored the vital role libraries play in fostering critical thinking and digital literacy to combat the spread of false information globally.
