NEW DELHI: Dr. Lata Suresh, Head of the Knowledge Resource Centre at the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, addressed the International Conference on Reimagining Libraries in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (ReLAAI@2047), speaking on “Beyond Automation: Building Emotionally Intelligent Libraries in the Age of AI.” She emphasized that while AI can enhance library efficiency and intelligence, it is human empathy, inclusivity, and ethical consciousness that give libraries their true purpose, calling for emotionally intelligent library ecosystems where technology supports humanity with sensitivity. Presenting her paper, *Information Equity: Ethical, Legal, and Policy Dimensions of Artificial Intelligence in Libraries*, she highlighted how AI is reshaping global library systems through improved access, discovery, and personalization, while also underscoring the need for ethical, transparent, and inclusive governance frameworks. The conference stood out for its intellectual depth, well-designed structure, and inclusive environment, blending academic rigor with warmth and collegiality, and offering rich discussions and inspiring exchanges of ideas.
