SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has deployed 50 volunteers chosen from the plant to work along with the Public Health Unit of Town Engineering Department to help conduct the house to house survey and spread awareness for prevention of dengue. The volunteers have been assigned the job of ensuring completion of the survey in 15 days and assess the factors responsible for transmission of dengue and prioritizing areas for vector control.
In a programme organised in Town Engineering Conference Hall on 22nd July 2024, T-Shirts featuring the SAIL logo and “Anti-Dengue Squad” were distributed to the volunteers by Mr. P K Swain, CGM (TA & CSR). Present on the occasion were Mr. B K Jojo, GM In-charge (TE), Mr. S Naik, GM (TE), Dr. Deepa Lavangare, Deputy CMO (Public Health), other officers of the Plant and the volunteers.
This T-Shirts will help create a distinct identity for the volunteers projecting a professional image and enhancing the reputation of the company. Besides, This initiative is expected to build trust and facilitate better cooperation from township residents during door-to-door dengue awareness and survey activities. It will also foster a sense of team spirit and a sense of pride of belonging to the company.
