Doctors of Ispat General Hospital (IGH) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant has demonstrated yet another instance of their expertise and excellence by successfully restoring the vision of a young Badminton Player.
Bharat Tanty, aged 24 years from Sector – 6, was admitted to IGH on with a critical eye injury sustained during a badminton match. The injury occurred when a shuttlecock struck his eye with force, resulting in a severe, full-thickness central corneal tear, a condition that, if not treated promptly, could have led to permanent vision loss or even loss of the eye.
Under the expert care of Dr. Anima Tiga, Chief Consultant (M&HS – Corneal Specialist), Bharat’s condition was immediately assessed and necessary investigations were made. The patient was then operated by Dr. Tiga, assisted by Dr. Satya Bharati, a DNB student. Sister Clara and the nursing team ensured attentive care throughout the recovery process.
The prompt and skilled medical intervention at IGH helped restore Bharat’s vision successfully. Following a smooth and satisfactory post-operative recovery, a grateful Bharat was discharged, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the care and dedication shown by the IGH medical team.
