Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and BEML Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly collaborate on Metro rail projects in India and Abroad. The partnership focuses on identifying, bidding for, and executing projects by combining BEML’s rolling stock manufacturing strength with DMRC’s expertise in metro system execution and operations.

The MoU was signed by Dr. P.K. Garg, Director (Business Development), DMRC and Mr. Rajeev Kumar Gupta, Director (Rail & Metro), BEML Ltd. on 8th April, 2026 at Metro Bhawan, New Delhi in the presence of Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC and Shri Shantanu Roy, Chairman & Managing Director of BEML and other senior officers of DMRC and BEML.
On the occasion, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director/DMRC described the agreement as a historic collaboration between two leading Indian entities, emphasizing its potential to significantly enhance urban mobility systems in India and abroad. He also highlighted the importance of developing indigenous propulsion systems and Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

Shri Shantanu Roy CMD/BEML stated that the association with DMRC would further strengthen BEML’s presence in the rail and metro sector as DMRC has been World class in its services. He also informed about BEML’s coach supply to DMRC since inception with best service outputs. BEML’s capabilities in manufacturing rolling stock, combined with DMRC’s expertise in the execution and operation of metro systems, would enable the two organisations to offer comprehensive, competitive, and globally benchmarked solutions.
With this partnership, both organizations aim to align their technical and commercial strengths to deliver robust solutions, while contributing to India’s expanding global presence in metro rail infrastructure.
