With the objective of encouraging managerial excellence among the young managers, the DIC Trophy for Young Managers competition was held at Learning and Development Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 13th January, 2025. The selection committee present on the occasion included Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR) and Chairman of the committee, Mr. S S Roychoudhury, CGM (Maintenance), Mr. P K Sahoo, CGM (MS & L&D) and Mr. Debabrata Panigrahi, MD (IEQMS), Bhubaneswar, was the external expert. It is noteworthy that the winning team of the competition will represent RSP in the Chairman’s Trophy for Young Managers 2024-25 to be held at Management Training Institute of SAIL at Ranchi.
The team comprising Ms. Tanushree Parida, Senior Manager (CO), Ms. Rita Murmu, Senior Manager (HSM-2) and Ms. Jyotirmayee Rautia, Manager (NPM) emerged as the winner of the DIC trophy for Young Managers 2024-25.
The 1st Runners-Up of the competition was the team comprising Mr. Anup Agarwal, Senior Manager, (HSM 2), Mr. Deepak Garg, Manager, (WMD), and Mr. Bata Krishna Giri, Deputy Manager, (R&C Lab) while the 2nd Runners up place went to the team consisting of Mr. Gopal Verma, Assistant Manager (CO), Mr. Ajay Kumar, Assistant Manager (I&A) and Mr. Shanu Sinha, Assistant Manager (SP-III).
The theme for this year’s competition was ‘Transforming Safety Culture in SAIL: Way Forward.’ The competition was open for all executives of up to 45 years of age. Mr. S Sukula, Deputy Manager (HR-L&D) and L&D team of SAIL, RSP organised the competition.
