Delhi is set to introduce its first cooperative ride-hailing service, offering an affordable and reliable transportation option for residents. The initiative aims to eliminate surge pricing and ensure fair fares for passengers. Drivers will benefit from zero commission charges, increasing their earnings. Delhi’s Cooperative Minister, Ravinder Indraj, announced the plan during the Annual General Meeting of the Delhi Citizen Cooperative Bank on October 12. This move is part of the government’s broader strategy to revitalize the cooperative movement in the city with renewed energy and direction. The new service is expected to enhance urban mobility while empowering local drivers and promoting community-based transportation solutions. The initiative reflects Delhi’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive development through cooperative efforts.
