Delhi Metro's Citizen Engagement Model: A Valuable Lesson in Communication That Builds Trust

In a significant knowledge-sharing initiative, Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communications at the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), recently conducted an insightful interactive session on Delhi Metro’s citizen engagement model—a valuable lesson in communication that builds trust. The session took place for young officer trainees from the Indian Information Service (IIS) at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi. This engaging event provided a platform for aspiring communication professionals to gain insights into the evolving trends and challenges within the corporate communications sector.

During the session, Dayal emphasized the importance of adaptability and innovation in communication strategies, particularly in the context of rapid technological advancements and shifting public expectations. The young trainees displayed keen interest, actively engaging with Dayal and posing questions about best practices and future directions in the field of communications.

“It’s always a pleasure to interact with such young, energetic minds,” Dayal remarked. “These future communication leaders will undoubtedly shape the communication landscape in the years to come, and their enthusiasm is truly inspiring.”

The session was further enriched by the presence of esteemed guests, including Dr. Anupama Bhatnagar, Vice Chancellor of IIMC, and Dr. Nimish Rustagi, Registrar & Additional Director General. Their participation underscored IIMC’s commitment to fostering valuable exchanges between experienced professionals and emerging talent.

This initiative reflects Anuj Dayal’s dedication to knowledge sharing and capacity building within the communication sector. By nurturing the skills and insights of future communication officials, DMRC aims to contribute to the development of a well-informed and skilled workforce capable of addressing the complexities of today’s information environment.
