New Delhi: Delhi has recorded a major expansion in its EV charging infrastructure, with the total number of charging points crossing 10,000. Over 3,000 new points have been added in recent months, marking a record rise. Power Minister Ashish Sood credited clear policies and faster implementation, while discoms like BSES and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited led installations. The surge reflects growing EV adoption, with Delhi now leading the country in electricity consumption for EV charging.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will organise the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Run’ on April 17–18 across seven cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Patna. The event aims to promote women-led development and public participation, featuring a 2–3 km run, pledge ceremony and certificate distribution. It seeks to encourage participation from women across sectors and strengthen engagement in governance and nation-building.
