An award distribution programme under Instant Recognition Scheme was organised at Mechanical Shop Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant on 6th November 2024. Mr. Shekhar Narayan, GM In-charge (Design & Shops) and Mr. G R Dash, GM (HR- CLC & Projects) presided over the function and presented the awards to 17 Contract workers of different agencies engaged in the Department. Present on the occasion were Ms. Sangeeta M Sindur, Senior Manager (HR) other Officers and employees of the Department and representatives of the concerned agencies.
The dignitaries commended the contract workers for their exceptional performance and urged them to keep striving towards excellence to take plant to greater heights.
The awards were given for the manufacturing of 4 nos V saddle pallets for Hot Strip Mill -2 Department. Above awardees were involved right from drawing preparation, fabrication ,machining to dispatch of spares to the user department. It is noteworthy that Shop manufactured V Saddle[Pallet] earned a substantial savings of Rs. 1.5 crore for RSP and it is also one import substitute for the organization. The event was co-ordinated by Mr. K R Mishra, AGM (Shops – Mechanical).
