SAIL-Bhilai’s PR Conclave Highlights Communication as a Catalyst for Change

BHILAI. On the occasion of World Public Relations Day, the Public Relations Department of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) organized ConnectCon 2025, a national-level PR Conclave held  at Bhilai Niwas. With the theme “Connect. Communicate. Create.”, the event brought together communication professionals and industry leaders from across SAIL units including Rourkela, Bokaro, VISL, Chandrapur, and the Corporate Office. Shri Chitta Ranjan Mohapatra, Director In-charge, BSP, inaugurated the conclave, highlighting the evolving role of PR in strategic institutional development and national progress. He emphasized that effective communication is critical in building trust, aligning stakeholders, and driving India’s growth vision for 2047.

The conclave featured technical sessions covering unit-specific communication strategies, CSR alignment, and content creation, chaired by Shri Anup Kumar Dutta. A key panel discussion explored the application of Artificial Intelligence in PR, followed by an insightful session on ethical challenges in social media communication. Creative engagement was woven into the event through short film screenings, a quiz competition, and a ‘Make an Ad’ contest. Winners of the ad contest included Shri Abhinav Shankar (BSL), Shri L. Praveen Kumar (VISL), and Shri Nitin Agnihotri (BSP), with a consolation prize awarded to Ms. Samanvita Ghosh (SAIL-CAD), evaluated by a distinguished jury.

The valedictory session, presided over by Shri Pawan Kumar, ED (HR), emphasized the power of storytelling in shaping organizational narratives and values. He urged PR professionals to proactively showcase institutional achievements and community impact. Shri Sandeep Mathur, CGM (HR), also graced the occasion, while Shri Prashant Tiwari, GM (PR), extended the Vote of Thanks, appreciating the efforts of all contributors. The event was efficiently coordinated by Smt. Aparna Chandra along with the BSP PR team, marking a successful and forward-thinking conclave.
